Can I possibly have Medicaid and afford a Doula?
The answer is YES!
We’re excited to announce we accept pregnant members & new moms apart of the HumanaBeginnings program through Humana Healthy Horizons in Louisiana for Birth & Postpartum Doula Services!!
Pregnant members/new moms enrolled in the HumanaBeginnings program through Humana Healthy Horizons can receive doula services which include;
5 prenatal visits
3 postpartum visits
1 visit for delivery assistance
These doula services are available to members per pregnancy!
Benefits of a Doula:
Help finding birthing classes and information on comfort measures during delivery
May join you for doctors’ visits
Has been shown to help mothers have a healthier pregnancy and birth, including improved breastfeeding rates and increased chance of a vaginal birth
Is trained to provide physical and emotional support to a mother before, during, and after a pregnancy
Doulas DO NOT:
Perform medical procedures/care
Give any medical advice or care
If you do not see your Insurance provider listed, give them a call to inquire about Doula or Lactation Services! Many insurance providers aren’t advertising services, but various providers are reimbursing for doula/lactation care!
We’re also accepting AmeriHealth Caritas Louisiana members!
We’re currently accepting pregnant members & new moms apart of the Bright Start Maternity Program program through AmeriHealth Caritas in Louisiana for Birth & Postpartum Doula Services!!
Pregnant members/new moms enrolled in the Bright Start program through Amerihealth can receive doula services which include;
7 prenatal or postpartum visits
1 visit for delivery assistance
These doula services are available to members per pregnancy!
