Whether this is Baby #1, Baby #3, your 1st VBAC or a planned cesarean surgery,
There’s A DOULA for YOU!
The word Doula is derived from the Greek words, woman caregiver or woman who serves. For centuries chosen community birth workers, granny midwives and female family members have helped create positive birth stories for women in various birth settings. The term doula in relation to birth-work arrived in the early 70’s, but before the coined name, women all over the world participated in various settings to help families bring life into this world. According to DONA International, doulas are trained and experienced labor companions. Doulas provide emotional, physical, and spiritual support to women and their families before, during and after childbirth. Doula’s simultaneously provide individualized care to empower and motivate you and your birth team before, during and after birth!
There’s a distinct connect and bond you’ll feel when you meet the right Doula for you. Every family deserves a doula, no matter the birth setting. Doulas can attend home births, birth centers, hospital births and planned cesarean births. They are vital additions to your birth team!
